I AM THANKFUL FOR THE GREAT WEEKEND OF TEACHING, PREACHING, AND FELLOWSHIP OF GOD'S PEOPLE. WHAT A GREAT GROUP OF SINNERS SAVED BY GRACE WE HAVE AT HEARTLAND!

I am calling on everyone to attend this Sunday, and if possible Saturday night. In this economic time of uncertainty, we have an opportunity to get sound financial teaching and preaching for free! I am looking forward to this with great anticipation- if you plan to attend Saturday night, and have not already notified me of that, please do so asap. Also, while the sessions begin at 7pm Sat, you may come at 6pm for pizza and pop. ($3 per person) Please call to notify please. Of course, after the morning service, we will have a pot luck dinner, then afternoon sessions for anyone who would like to stay. There will be no evening service this Sunday night. I look forward to a full house Sunday!
Sunday services at Heartland were very good. The attendance in the morning was such that the main room was nearly full. Sunday night was very well attended, with a special treat with Bro. Watson adding his guitar to our congregational music. During the last two days, several of our folks have been attending the preaching conference in Canton, IL with the Gray Brothers. I had jury duty up until last night and worked tonight, so I could not go. I am looking forward to getting the cd's for sure. Tomorrow night is Bible study. Sure hope to see you then.
We had a great Bible study and prayer time tonight. We were blessed to have Helzerman family (missionaries to Papau New Guinea) with us in our service. The Bible study was back to the life of Christ series, of which we studied the sermon on the mount. Looking forward to Sunday!
We are just outside of 20 hours of Sunday school- I hope you are planning to attend. There's not a better place to be on a cold morning than in church, and I promise we'll turn the thermostat up! We enjoyed having the Weaver family with us Wednesday night in our service. I posted on our main page our Finance Conference that is scheduled for next weekend. I hope you will attend and bring a friend. I have fliers ready for us tomorrow. Sneak peak into tomorrow's message- Abraham...
I have not been home but a few minutes since around 8am today. Had jury duty today, then worked my other job tonight. I did speak to Bro. Weaver this afternoon and am looking forward to having he and his family with us tomorrow night- see you then.
I apologize for the lack of updates this week; it has been a very busy week. Bro. Steve and I are working on some exciting new ideas for our website, of which I think you'll really like. We are hoping to have some of these upgrades in the coming week or two. Sunday school is just over 30 hours from now. I encourage you to attend the Sunday school hour; it is always such a blessing. See you then.
It would be nice if every day were Sunday, wouldn't it? We had good services and attendance again today at Heartland. Tonight's attendance was very good. Wednesday night Bible study is only 67 1/2 hours away!
We enjoyed a fantastic New Year's Eve service Wednesday night, with preaching followed by food and games. The spirit of everyone was sweet, along with the great food! I worked my other job on New Year's Day, then our family drove to my family's house to celebrate our Christmas. We just got back into town tonight and it's about time for bed! There is an interesting Bible reading schedule I came across, of which I will introduce Sunday. It's a much different way to read through your Bible in a year. I am also seeing about trying to post it on a new page here on our site. I'll see if I can get that done before Sunday. See you Sunday.
I know sports tend to be all about the money and we find athletes who don't really love the game, but last night I watched two teams who love to play the game of football. The Florida Gators came out the champ, and I especially noticed the comments made about Florida QB Tim Tebow. It was said that he had gone on several church mission trips. I also noticed that under his eyes, the word "John 3:16" was written. It was nice to watch an athlete such as Tebow who actually loves the game and does not distract us by the 20 tatoos and piercings on his body. I wish Mr. Tebow the best, and hope to see him playing on Sunday (in a Bears uniform) in the years to come.
Dozen donuts on Sunday AM: $6.00 Gas for Sunday morning service: $2.50 Lunch at McD's after church: $15.00 Heartburn medication: $9.98 Gas for Sunday night service: $2.50 Spending an entire Sunday at Heartland Baptist Church: PRICELESS!
It has been a long but very productive day, yet much to be done tomorrow before Bible study. I am looking forward to a great time in church tomorrow night. See you then.
